Electric cars are cars that are only powered by an electric motor and not an engine that runs on gas, as most traditional cars will do. The electric motor that is used in this type of car gets its energy directly from a controller which will activate when the driver puts his or her foot on the accelerator pedal. Energy is stored in an electric car using rechargeable batteries which can be easily recharged from a regular household electricity supply using an adapter.

There is no question that electric cars are destined to become a major part of the auto industry. The race is on to make faster, bigger, and yet still more efferent electric cars. As the auto industry sees more market for these types of cars, they keep dropping millions in the research and development into making them better and better each year.
